Our accessibility goal

We are working to make this website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines address keyboard access, screen reader support, color contrast, text resizing, page structure, forms, documents, charts, and other web content.

Ongoing review

Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility. The City will continue testing this website with keyboard navigation, screen readers, text enlargement, color contrast tools, and automated accessibility checkers as pages and documents are added.

What has been done on this site

• Every page has a skip link, a single main heading, labeled navigation and a visible keyboard focus outline.
• Every chart has a text description, and the key numbers from each chart also appear in the page text or a table.
• Text and background colors were checked against the WCAG 2.1 AA contrast levels, and small text was enlarged.
• Pages work with browser zoom and on phone screens, and animations are turned off when a device is set to reduce motion.
• Links that open a new tab say so to screen reader users.

Known limitations

Some linked documents, such as budget books and State of Florida reports, are published by other offices and may not be fully accessible. Contact us and we will provide the information in another format.
